NDEAM Showcases How People with Disabilities Power the Workplace
Vienna, VA – Inclusion drives innovation. This year's theme for National Disability Employment Awareness Month is borne out by the more than 114,000 people with disabilities making up the SourceAmerica network of nonprofits. Each October, SourceAmerica shines a spotlight on the strengths and contributions of this segment of the population with so much to offer employers.
Through innovative leadership, education, technology and business impact, the men and women who make up SourceAmerica fulfill the organization's mission: creating employment opportunities and choices for people with disabilities.
"With innovative thinking and leadership, we're building an inclusion economy that recognizes the talents and contributions of a segment of the population that's too often overlooked," said Steve Soroka, president and CEO of SourceAmerica. "NDEAM recognizes that people with disabilities are a vital, productive part of our workforce, and we're proud to support it."
SourceAmerica will be releasing a series of videos and stories depicting how inclusion drives innovation. As a central nonprofit agency for the AbilityOne Program, SourceAmerica is one of the largest sources of employment for people who have significant disabilities. Employees within the network perform a variety of roles such as customer service, secure document destruction, electronics recycling, seasonal staffing, kitting and packaging, food services and more.
