Northern Virginia Family Service Honors SourceAmerica with 25th Annual CARE Award
VIENNA, Va. — SourceAmerica was recently honored with a Companies As Responsive Employers award by Northern Virginia Family Service. For 25 years, the NVFS has given the annual CARE awards, which recognize “outstanding employee engagement and culture, progressive family-friendly policies and deep community impact.”
“We’re humbled that Northern Virginia Family Service recognizes the work we do to create employment opportunities and choices for people with disabilities,” said SourceAmerica President and CEO Steve Soroka. “With their prestigious CARE award, NVFS also recognizes our passion for providing a progressive and flexible culture where employees can thrive.”
As part of a rigorous application process, SourceAmerica employees at all levels were surveyed and interviewed about their experiences. Programs offered to SourceAmerica’s more than 400 employees, like workplace giving, tuition reimbursement and flexible work schedules, are considered as part of the award criteria.
“The recognition from Northern Virginia Family Services means a great deal to us. The past year we have really put our efforts into listening to our employees and following up with actionable results,” said Vice President of Human Resources Susie Bonvouloir. “And while it’s a regional award, it acknowledges the national footprint of SourceAmerica employees and our impact on communities across the country.”
“Workplace flexibility, employee wellbeing and community stewardship are great ways for Northern Virginia companies to demonstrate commitment to strong families and a strong community,” said NVFS President and CEO Stephanie Berkowitz. “Such values not only attract exceptional talent, they provide an opportunity for companies to make an impact on the community around them.”
SourceAmerica joins the ranks of other companies making positive social impacts, such as Ernst & Young, Booz Allen Hamilton and Capital One. Representatives from SourceAmerica will receive the organization’s CARE award at an awards breakfast on November 17 in Tysons Corner, Virginia.
