Vice President, General Counsel

Brett Coffee is the Vice President, General Counsel at SourceAmerica and is responsible for identifying and meeting a broad spectrum of legal needs for the organization. He also serves on the executive leadership team.

Coffee is a mission-driven attorney and executive with over 25 years of experience advising companies and nonprofits on laws, regulations, operations, and strategy. Prior to joining SourceAmerica, he served as Managing Director at Aetos Corporation. There he led consulting and interim executive engagements as an adviser to executives in a variety of sectors to drive strategic change, improve operational efficiency, and maximize profitability. Before that, he was the Chief Operating Officer, General Counsel, and Secretary of CSCI, a highly respected defense contractor.

He was named the Top General Counsel in the Washington, D.C. area by the Washington Business Journal in 2009 and by the Association of Corporate Counsel, National Capital Region in 2014. He was also named to the Washington Business Journal’s 40 Under 40 in 2010 and was recognized with the People’s Choice Award as the top young business leader in the region.

Coffee holds a B.A. in Political Science and an M.B.A. from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, in addition to a J.D. from Fordham University School of Law. He also has a Master of Laws in Business and Corporate Law and a diploma in Corporate Taxation from the University of San Diego.
