The William M. Usdane Award celebrates an AbilityOne Program employee with a disability who has exhibited outstanding achievement and exceptional character. Lysander Jones holds a record no other employee has come close to reaching at Goodwill. Jones has worked more than 500 shifts without missing a single day.

Lysander Jones is a man on a mission. With music in his soul and a spring in his step, he has been lifting spirits and motivating team members at Goodwill Industries since 2009. His love of his job as a janitor at Naval Station Great Lakes shines through in his positive attitude and commitment to doing outstanding work. Co-workers call him a “superstar” and say that he lifts up everyone around him. Lysander holds the attendance record for most consecutive workdays without calling out, and he has consistently received the highest rating of any janitor since taking on the role.
